I have searched the archives and looked at Tom Hale's radioisotope table
(extremely useful!). The mum is nursing a year old baby and is scheduled
for a lasix renogram? in a few weeks. She has been told anywhere from 48 to
72 hours of not nursing. The table on Tom Hale's page indicates that for
this type of technetium, even that is not warranted. It's technetium mtc
and also dietcylenetriaminepentaacetic acid. Is that the technetium DPTA
referred to in the table? Medline searches show a half life of around 4
hours. Are these sorts of scans done on babies of this age? Baby is not
eating much by way of solids and is verrrryyyy attached to nursing.
