I am working with a mom of an almost 6 month old baby who has been
diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence. This very dedicated mom has been
pumping with a double
electric pump and all feedings except for about 4 ounces has been
breastmilk given by bottle. The mom has never given up on getting the baby
directly to the breast, and
for the first time last week the baby did manage to latch to the breast for
a few minutes - the mom was overjoyed! Now the mother has noticed a lower
milk supply, one breast especially has dropped down to about 1- 1 1/2 ounce
per pumping, while the other seems to produce about 4 ounces. She has been
very dedicated to getting proper nutrition, has tried fenugreek, and fennel
- drinks lots of liquids, and does a lot of skin to skin contact with her
baby. We are also looking for any other suggestions to get the baby to
stay latched. Reglan was also considered. Any other ideas? Thanks in
advance. Evelyn
