I have a client who is taking the supplement OPC-3. The ingredients are
25 mg each of the following extracts: Grape seed, Red Wine, Pine Bark,
Bilberry ("derived a the leaves and berry like fruit of a common
European shrub similar to blueberry", "It may also play a role in
relieving menstrual problems; studies have found it helps to relax
smooth muscles like those found in the uterine wall".), Citrus Extract
(Bioflavonoids).
Could any of these ingredients reduce her milk production? She is at
the "end" of her second cycle of OCP's, had no problem with milk
production with the first cycle. The only change is that she takes
OPC-3 every morning now that she's back to work (for four weeks) and
only took it sporadically while at home. Baby is 4 months old, fed ad
lib at breast. She pumps 4 times per day at work. Any thoughts?
Please respond privately.
Thank you for your help.
