Rebecca, Kathy and Lori,
Just how close do you live to each other? I think my first concern would
be what pollutants are common in your environment.
I have dry eyes without fail every time I visit my parents. So dry that
I have trouble removing my contacts...now I take and wear my glasses
while visiting them. I have not been able to pinpoint what irritant is
present in their house/community.... (No, it is not just the stress of
being there, they are outstanding). Central heat/air, dogs, cats,
carpets.....potpourri? I very rarely experience dry eyes at home, and
when I do it is nothing like the reaction I get there.
It would indeed be interesting to find a link to this dry-eye phenomenon
and estrogen/breastfeeding. However, I suspect it is something much more
common...maybe so everyday that you are overlooking it as a possibility.
