i have always understood diabetes to be a risk factor for thrush - in mom
at least. i assume it would be similar for baby. i second the karen
Zeretske Leaven article as invaluable. The BReastfeeding Answer Book lists
risks factors for thrush as well, and diabetes is on the list. i am
working with tow moms right now, both with 12 week old babies who have been
battling unidentified excrutiating nipple pain (all normal treatments not
helping) for ALL of hteir babies' lives. I am on the verge of stumped.
ANyhow - I re-read all the thrush info i have during the time i have been
working with these moms! good luck!
