I recently saw a well nursing/growing 2 month old. Babies first 2 weeks were
complicated by the fact that she would not latch on the right. Mom would fed
her on the left and she finally started latching on the right. Mom told me
when she returns to work in a few months she plans to have the baby get
formula at day care because when she pumps the baby won't latch on that side
for a few hours after pumping.
Mom states her nipple is bigger for some time after pumping and thinks this
bothers the baby. She is using a Medela single electric.
My thought is she could adjust the suction on the pump but why the odd
shaped nipple and baby's refusal to nurse?
thanks,
Rob
