I am wondering if any of you might be familiar with a study reportedly out of
the Scandinavian area by research physicians regarding the abberant MRI's or
CAT scans on infants who had (BG) blood glucose levels <60?
Our Neonatal ARNP went to a nursing conference hosted by none other than-
you guessed it a formula company where a speaker talked about the fact that
AAP may accept this as the new standard instead of a BG of 45. I told her I
will refuse to accept the data if the study has been underwritten by a
pharmaceutical company whose desire is to pull one more baby off the breast
and tamper with their BF experience! I also have a concern that the formula
companies keep seeming to purchase the time of speakers (another ARNP) who
seem to hold much credibility with the those in the nursing profession
because they are good speakers. If any of you know of the research or can
cite me that body of data via public forum or privately I would greatly
appreciate it.
Armoring my self with more data in Sarasota Florida.
