My convenience sample (n=2, 50% female, 50% male) of children shows no gender-based difference in preferred feeding method. There is only one method in our house. Well, two, if you count right and left breasts separately.
My son once explained to his extremely sheltered older sister what a certain brand name ABM was. She had never heard of ABM at all and is the oblivious type about all matters in which she is not vitally interested. His explanation: "You know, it's that breastmilk forgery." He hates it now when I show the photo of him breastfeeding a doll. I also have a shot of his sister trying valiantly to feed him when she was 5 and he was 2 months old. Nice to have as evidence when the quarreling gets out of hand!
