>> Has anyone here read _Mother Nature: A History of Mothers, Infants, and
>> Natural Selection_ by Sarah Blaffer Hrdy?
I have not seen Dr. Hrdy's new book. She is a VERY FAMOUS anthropologist
(mostly for her work on Langur monkeys in India), and a member of the
National Academy of Sciences (big honor). She was the editor of the series
from Aldine de Gruyter publishers that "Breastfeeding: Biocultural
Perspectives" appeared in. She was originally slated to write the foreword
(we ended up with a wonderful foreword by Ed Newton) -- Dr. Hrdy's foreword
was very critical of the book, especially my work on weaning, and both
Patricia Stuart-Macadam and I agreed that it was not appropriate for the book.
So . . . .
for those of you who have read it -- give us some feedback.
