But I said *rate* not *number*. That is a vital distinction - I cannot
overstate its importance. The number on its own is irrelevant.

Yes - but the *rate* of deaths is not, if we assume there are more
baby-hours spent in a crib than an adult bed in the under twos. In fact, my
money is safe, if I still bet on the rate of furniture deaths being lower
among crib-sleeping babies.
In fact, it's probably far lower.
