I thought it was tummy vs back sleeping, not whether baby was on the sofa, a
bed, the floor, or anywhere else. Lots of us have bf'd baby while lying
down on a sofa, but there's the 'common sense' factor: size of mom, size of
baby, softness of sofa, depth of sofa seating area, ie to they both "fit"?
& is baby protected from falling off the edge with some sort of bolster? or
have enough wiggle room if mom's on the outside edge?
This is also assuming an unimpaired mother. I agree with the smoking as
being the major factor here.
