Joyce Mollet:

>Can anyone help me tracking down a recording of this work (Misa Criolla)?

John Dalmas answered:

>I have a recording . . . It is on an Accord label (ACD-102942).

I wasn't much help to Joyce, forgetting that Accord is no longer
distributed in the U.S.

However, an e-mail to a good friend in Los Angeles bore fruit. The Misa
Criolla is available by mail order from Tango Reporter, #704, 8033 Sunset
Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90046.

They have two versions of the mass on CD: the one by Ariel Ramirez that
Joyce heard, and one by a group known as Los Fronterizos (The Facing Ones).
The Ramirez is better known, but the other suppposedly (I was informed) has
a tad more earthiness.

The hook is you have to order at least three CDs from them (at $15 a pop).
But if you love the tango and love to dance it, their catalog will turn you
into Alice in Wonderland.
