I just had a teen mom tell me that the one of the school districts here
mandates maternity leaves of a maximum 25 school days or else the girl needs
to repeat the year.  I was trying to talk mom into breastfeeding & one of her
issues was the short leave time (of course, I did point out that it was
perfectly possible to breastfeed and attend school simultaneously and that
breastfeeding even for the first 3 weeks would be superior to fomula--to no
avail, sadly.)
