I have a lovely mom who gave birth to Rama 4 months ago. Rama was born
with a unilateral cleft lip and is breastfeeding beautifully since birth
with only a few engorgement issues early on.
Tonight the family is flying to the States for surgery to repair the
cleft. Mom is understandably stressed and will need encouragement and
support and may need professional help. The op is being performed at
NYU hospital on Monday and she is to speak with a nutritionist right
after surgery to discuss continued nutrition. Why not an LC I ask
suspiciously? Since she very much wants to continue breastfeeding,
she may need extra help from any of you who have had experience in this
area over there.
She has given me permission to give out her e-mail address and I hope
that any of you who feel that you can give her some assistance,
encouragement, and practical advice will be in touch with me and I will
supply the address.
Thanks in advance.
