I don't believe this is an accurate statement. Can someone please provide
statistics?
I know that when I used to donate blood (before I started chemo) the
questions about HIV risk included such things as (paraphrase here): Have you
ever had sex with a man who has had sex with another man since 1975? Have
you ever lived in Cameroon? Did you have a blood transfusion before 1985?
And I believe that the fastest growing group of people in the US newly
contracting HIV in the last few years are high school and college-age people
of both sexes. In Africa, HIV affects both sexes equally.
