Have to share with my "pals" -- Today I was at a day-long training
conference on campus, sort of a "So You Think You Might Want to Be an
Administrator" session for female faculty members. At my table of 5,
someone *else* brought up breastfeeding (we had a pregnant woman at our
table, but someone else brought up the topic). Several women chimed in with
stories of breastfeeding on campus, in offices, etc. It was great. I then
mentioned that I did research on breastfeeding, and that set off a whole
'nother round of discussion.
When it was over, one of the women from my table (a professor from the
Medical School) and I were talking, and when I found out she did research on
estrogen I said we would have to have lunch so I could ask her questions
about whether or not I should take Tamoxifen (estrogen antagonist for women
with estrogen-positive breast cancer) and she said "Oh, I didn't realize you
had breast cancer, I thought your bald head was just a fashion statement."
ROFLOL (rolling on the floor laughing out loud)
I may be weird, but I'm not THAT weird!!!
Kathy Dettwyler, done with chemo, now growing WHITE peach fuzz (my hair used
to be dark brown)
