I've been correstponding via e-mail in Spanish to a mom who has been
suffering from depression. Her baby is now 1 1/2 years old and she has
found it necessary to return to the medications she was taking prior to her
pregnancy. She was able to delay them until now.
Her first question was about Zoloft (sertraline), which I was able to
answer through quotes from Dr. Hale's book and references he gives.
However, her doctor wants now to have her take Xanax (alprazolam) upon
occasion, when she needs it. This would be in addition to the Zoloft, so I
am not secure in just quoting The Red Book (Dr. Hale's) and would
appreciate some guidance.
Her child is eating other foods, but still nurses well and often.
