Lisa, shhh, don't tell anyone 'cause it's too controversial,...... but for
nipple variations that cause latch on difficulties - those nipples that do
not respond well enough to stimulation and/or facilitated latch on
techniques,...... i don't call it Hoffman technique, but i have been known to
suggest: very very gentle "areolar conditioning" which is surprisingly
similar to Hoffman. i think a good pump can accomplish about the same thing.
meaning, encouraging areolar tissue elasticity/graspability, that's *areolar*
graspability.
