Several days ago in one of our newspapers, there was a blurb about a mother
of a newborn in England who nursed her baby on the sofa twice during the
night, and when she woke up in the morning was horrified to see that her
baby had died. She was quoted as saying that she was so shocked by what she
saw, that she had to first light up a cigarette and then notified the
autorities. She supposedly smothered the baby while sleeping with her in
her arms- do any of you have any details about this story? One of our
parenting magazines wants to mention this report in an upcoming issue, and
I am looking for details, as well as references about the safety of
sleeping with a baby. Any local British Lactnuts who know something about
this shocking story? Thanks in advance.
