Hi and thanks to all who already replied to me regarding the mother who
wants to wean her one year old.
I haven't spoken with this mom yet, but I just needed all of your input to
see if I was so wrong thinking "wouldn't continued breastfeeding be the
*right* and most gentle thing to do here, maybe she 'self-weans' when mom's
milk will change to colostrum again".
My initial idea was pretty much the same as most of yours.
I'm awaiting your reactions and think I'm going to ask the mom why she
thinks she wants to wean and if she really wants to do so, give her some
basics about weaning, referring her to the LLL brochure on it.
But, in the meantime I'm wondering, are there any statistics on what
percentage of children 'self-wean' during moms pregnancy?
Thanks again for hearing me out and ofcourse responding !
