I also use T/F tests to start off staff training sessions. It gives
them something to do while everyone is gradually arriving. But, I don't
go over it until the end of the session/seminar/PD day, and in the last
half hour of the session, I tell them to go over the "test" and if
there is anything they would like to correct or change, they still have
time.
Then I ask them to tell me how many answers they changed and which
ones. This will give you and them an indicator of how much they learned
in that session. If it is a multi-session course, I collect the papers
and go over them to see where the group is most lacking in information.
