Could it be that when baby skips feeding mom's body reabsorbs milk making
sugar go up?
In general, as a diabetic mom makes milk for a newborn she usually needs
less insulin and more food. As baby starts to wean (read - miss feedings)
mom needs to readjust her diet down and insulin up. Of course this baby is
young so weaning isn't the issue. The impact of high sugar will be on mom,
not on milk or baby (milk isn't sweeter). I think she may need to tinker
with her insulin dosing schedule. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
