A woman in my prenatal breastfeeding class asked me a question on a topoc I
am unfamilar with. Six years ago she got a breast infection. She has never
been pregnant before. She only remembers waking up one day and her breast
was hard and very red in the upper outer quaderant of the left breast. She
was treated but it took a long time to go away after antibiotic treatment. It
was very painful. She is worried if she breastfeeds she will get another
infection or be prone to it. I told her being aware of what symptoms to look
for and regular emptying of the breast will help but I really couldn't tell
her what her chances of reoccorance. Any ideas on how to handle this.. I
told her I would submit this to the list because if anyone would know THe
Wiseones would. THannks in asvance, If posible please email me also with your
