I am the mother of two and I nursed both of my boys until they were about 2
>>>years old. My youngest was weaned about 5 years ago. I still have milk.
I don't believe it is unusual to have milk years after weaning. When I have
had a helping call regarding that question. I reassure the mother that it
is normal. I do tell her that an unusual breast discharge needs to be
checked out, like a very dark-colored, or blood-like discharge. But if it
resembles milk or colostrum, it is normal.
Something that many don't think about is that "any" breast stimulation can
keep somewhat of a milk supply. I tell a mother that even certain types of
"love play" can stimulate the breasts to produce milk and oxytocin is
released during an orgasm. Usually, she says "Oh!..............I see."
I suppose I have then given her enough information. ; )
