Hi Lactnetters :-)
I have permission to discuss this case on Lactnet.
One of our Peer Counselors here at Miami-Dade WIC has a close friend in
Newport News, Virginia, who needs an IBCLC. She has a history (with first
baby quite some time ago) of flat nipples, engorgement - your general
new-breastfeeder nightmare. She weaned at 3 weeks, after having been given
nipple shields for her "flat" nipples in the hospital. I haven't actually
seen her of course, or even talked to her, so I really don't know if her
nipples are flat, inverted, or normal.
She is now pregnant again, due in June, and eager to learn whatever she
needs to in order to avoid repeating Nightmare #1. I told my Peer Counselor
that I could find her friend a good IBCLC on Lactnet :::grin:::
Whom should she see?......TIA
Regina Roig Lane BS IBCLC for Miami-Dade County WIC
