For a review of the literature on bf and breast cancer up to 1994/5, see
Marc Micozzi's chapter in "Breastfeeding: Biocultural Perspective." Since
then, a number of other studies have come out, showing not only that
breastfeeding protects the mother against both pre- and post-menopausal
breast cancer, but the having been breastfed as a child reduces a woman's
risk for breast cancer as well.
You can find a couple of references on my web page, and you can find more on
the LLLI fact sheets that are published every year.
