So THAT'S  why you, as a pediatrician,  would be prescribing medication
for a MOM! I wondered about that!

Even though you were dealing with mastitis, not thrush,  this question
confronts us frequently: "Who all to have mom call, and how to get both
mom and babe treated simultaneously when need be?" This is a dilemma that
presents in offering support to a WIC mom whose tales of woe suggest
thrush.

Personally I want my patients mom's calling me for thrush and mastitis and I
treat them both. Treatment includes giving mom Jack's handout from Linda or
Cindy's web page. This way it gets done right.
I've had a few mom's call because they are "treated" for mastitis and not
sure if they can breastfeed on the antibiotic or have been told not to
breastfed on the antibiotic.
