Congratulations! Navy Hospital San Diego has made a committment to become
Baby -Friendly and is actively seeking out faux-pas like the booklet you
describe. There is an active lactation support program and they received our
San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition award 2 years ago as a
"Breastfeeding-Friendly Employer".
Talk to Dr. Shea O'Neill, Dept of OB-Gyn at Navy, and Elaine Hamilton, the
Peds Dept administrator about the offensive literature. I am sure they will
fix it. Navy Hospital is also an active member of our local breastfeeding
coalition. Sounds like you need to get involved as well!
