>Anyone want to share what they say when the question "when can I start
pumping so dad/grandmother..... can give a bottle?"
Well, if it were *me* teaching the class, I would say "Anytime after the
baby is 2.5 years old, so that if giving the bottle interferes with
breastfeeding and leads to weaning, at least the baby will have gotten the
minimum duration of breastfeeding that he, as a human baby, is designed to
receive."
Actually, I would probably say that bottle-feeding is not all that
thrilling (believe, I've been there, done that with my middle child), and
that it would be more appropriate is dad/grandmother gave the baby it's
bath every couple of days and/or took the baby for a moonlight stroll every
time there is a full moon -- etc.
