Thanks Carol for reminding us that the jury is still out on fortifying human
milk with just another kind of formula for prem babies. A study comparing
breastmilk-plus-formula vs just plain formula?  Please!  At the risk of
being boring I'll repeat that this stuff is unknown in Zimbabwe - the prem
babies are fed their own mother's milk - as it comes - no fiddling about
waiting for the cream to rise to the top so they can have a higher
proportion of fat or anything fancy.  And they grow just fine.  I wonder
*when* we'll stop believing we can improve on Nature when it comes to
providing food for human babies.
