I know you'll get disagreement about this, but to tell you the truth, I used
and recommend plain old Benadryl (diphenhydramine) as an antihistamine IF a
woman has a normal nursing-well baby and no big issues of supply.
Theoretically it can reduce supply, but I've not found this to be a problem
in "regular" situations. I wouldn't recommend it for women having difficulty
manintaining supply, nursing "borderline" (in terms of BF skills) babies,
etc.
It does make you sleepy (a big plus at night, IMHO!), and it does dry up
your mouth, but it works reasonably well and is short-acting.
