as i understand it the problem is that some of the material included in this
curriculum comes from ABM manufacturers (i looked at this but did not have
time to go all the way through). yes, it takes time and effort to put
together this type of material for teachers. schools now are quite complacent
about using materials provided by all sorts of commercial ventures or groups
supporting some kinds of products or other (including the television sytem in
schools where students are forced to see commercials each day for all kinds
of things).
that doesn't mean this is a good idea. do they hand out lung health
curriculum information provided by cigarette manufacturers? even if the
material were factually correct and not slanted, we are still saying
something very, very important when you use materials provided by those with
commercial interests. that's just how it works.
