I am working with a mom who has narcolepsy. She has a 4 month old, and
until recently has been at home with her baby. She has been using coffee and
Coca-Cola to help with her condition. She claims it has not affected her
baby's sleep. She is now returning to work, and feels like she must go back
on her medication--Ritalyn. I am wondering if any of you have worked with
any breastfeeding women who have taken this medication? If so, how did
things go for the baby? Her doctor has not suggested she wean, however both
he and the mother are concerned. I have read what Dr. Hale says and also
searched the archives, but I would greatly appreciate any personal
experiences/advice for this mother.
