From "The Complete German Commission E Monographs":
Uva Ursi
Used for inflammatory disorders of the efferent urinary tract. The
antimicrobial effect is associated with arbutrin/hydroquinone.
Contraindicated in breastfeeding. The occurrence of
arbutrin/hydroquinone in the breast milk has not been researched. The drug,
therefore, should not be administered during lactation.
Oil of Oregano
Used for disorders and afflictions of the urinary tract.
No risks known.
So, the Oil of Oregano looks ok: the Uva Ursi does not.
There should be better alternatives for a breastfeeding mother for a UTI than
Uva Ursi.
