My nutrition book says inositol is a nutrient-like substance. "There are
several substances that perform vital functions within the body, are
required nutrients for at least one type of animal, but are not considered
nutrients for humans because they can be synthesized in amounts sufficient
to meet the body's need. These include choline and inositol." Inositol
is a component of phospholipids. Phospholipids are found in br milk,
however increasing phospholipids in mom's diet does not appear to raise
phospholipid content of br milk. I believe inositol is used as a health
food, but no documented results. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
