No, they are quite traditional and do broadcast the entire piece
uninterrupted.  In fact, when they have a technical problem, they apologize
profusely to those who are recording the work.  But imagine if they had a
Bruckner festival or broadcast the entire Parsifal between Sloan-Kettering
announcement.  You could die before you discover who is the best butcher
in town!

NYC really is a good station.  Better with the commercial sponsors
then when all it was a NPR outlet.  By the way, it is the most-listened
public radio station in the country and the first and (only?) founded as
a municipal station for Mayor La Guardia to read the funny papers to the
kids of New York during a prolonged newspaper strike in the 30s.  Its FM
signal carries pretty well into the far suburbs, where I am.
