Is this any way to run a classical music station,Part2

Some of you may remember 2 months ago(the last time I was on vacation) I
offered a log of the local classical music station's programming & asked
for feedback.  By and large the input was quite negative(as I expected);
however a response or 2 tended to argue that classical music(even of this
highly restricted variety) needed to be on the air & any endeavor to
attract enough listeners & advertisers was justified.

So once again i ask for your feedback & ask you to answer the 2nd
question-"is this kind of programming justified i.e. is it the only kind
of programming that a big market commercial classical station(in the USA)
can afford to air in order to attract ratings & advertising dollars? Is
anyone aware of a major market commercial station that programs a wide
array of Classical Music(everyone I have found on the web does not
qualify-at least not IMHO).

Hopefully you will not feel that discussions of CM Radio are worthless.
I always felt that radio was the great hope for CM to reach the masses-it
played that role for me-for others it might be as a performer,concert goer,
or recording collector.
