Just used our archives and our collective wisdom (well, actually,Tom
Hale's!) to save a mom & baby an unpleasant night! A midwife called me from
her office for info re: radiocontrast agent Omnipaque (had a mom who had had
a procedure done today & had been told to pump & dump for 24 hrs.). I messed
around in the archives for a few minutes, came up with the info, & was able
to call the midwife back right away, and she'll call the mom with the
straight story. Plus I was able to put in a strong plug for Tom's book,
which the office REALLY should have. Didn't do my reputation with the
midwives' practice any harm either - she was delighted to have info that was
helpful to her pt., without having to do anything more bothersome than
calling me; pt. gets to nurse through the night; I get to hope that they
will remember how helpful I was and call me when they have a *paying*
consult for me.
So glad lactnet and its archives are there! Thanks, all! Thanks, Tom!
