I agree with Judy.  This Danish study sounds suspect. (Need to read it for
ourselves) And how about my sample of one alcoholic who nursed for 2 years?
This is the same sort of reasoning that has been used on the discussion
about newborns sleeping all night/hypoglycemia.  And currently in the news
about the two young men from CO.  There are outlyers on every statistical
evaluation, because there is often no ONE cause for things.  Remember
causes are usually multiple, complex and interrelated.

About the sleeping long periods 3 week old, I agree with Heather.  "If it
ain't broke, don't fix it!"  What on earth do you think babies did before
we could measure blood sugar?  Some of them slept all night, right from the
beginning and some of them woke up at least once per night,  past the age
