My I suggest you paraphrase this idea in your letter?

Why should this be a decision for the anesthesia dept, this is something for
pediatrics to address. Does anesthesia want to make other infant/child
feeding decisions.
Can you tell this topic bothers me?
Fortunate the only time I experienced it at my hospital I put an order on
the baby's chart to breastfed when mom as awake and able to. My discussions
with anesthesia went well.
