Kathy
at the risk of ....
as co-owner you obviously have the power to ensure that certain issues are
or are not discussed on Lactnet, but it's a sad day when ILCA's name
engenders such negative reactions. I've noticed other posts about sharing
rooms, speakers and getting together at different events..
As ILCA is the only intl organisation for LCs its annual conference
provides a positive focus for members and interested persons from all over
the world.
For international people attending ILCA, it adds to the excitement when
there is mention of events they're attending or contemplating attending now
or in the future .. and makes the trip seem less overwhelming if you
haven't been before..and even allows you to make some arrangements for
contact before you get there. [I'm not seeking a room mate or any of these
things incidentally..]
I agree that ILCA could provide such a facility, but you (and KB and the
others) have done such an excellent job with Lactnet, that a few posts
about room sharing and positive messages about getting together would just
add to the good vibes people have about Lactnet... and not harm it, nor
annoy those who aren't going or aren't members.. just do selective reading
as most do anyway.
