I am a family medicine specialist in Israel, and I have a great interest
in breastfeeding. I have been helping bf mothers for more than ten years. I
have also bf my own four children for a total of nine years.
I've been on Lactnet for a year and a half. I have learned very much from
Lactnet, and this has encouraged me to become IBCLC last year. Since I
have started reading, and occasionaly writing to Lactnet I have gotten much
more active in bf promotion. I started writing letters to newspapers
commenting on bf articles (which usually are innaccurate and often worse),
I have written about violations of the code, I have started giving lectures
on bf to nurses and doctors, and I feel much more confident in confronting
a large part of the medical community in matters concerning bf.
I would write much more often, but the language barrier, and my slow typing
in English make this difficult, so often my comments to Lactnet remain in
my thaughts.
Thank you all for this wonderful thing called Lactnet.
