With my first, I had to eliminate dairy completely. She suffered terribly from
"colic" When I had completely been off for 3.5 days,
she was like a whole new baby. She was 3mos old and had never slept more that
20 min or so in the daytime. Suddenly I was looking to see if
she was still breathing because she slept for 3hrs!
Later, she began having frequent ear infections and someone suggested
I try going dairy free again. I did and she cleared right up. From
that point on I had to be careful feeding her dairy(yogert,cheese)
she could tolerate small amt.s about every 3-4 days, but if I got careless and
she got more than that, bang! another ear infection.
This went on for years.
When my brothers daughter was scheduled for tubes, I begged him to post
pone and try 1mo dairy free. They did, over their docs strong skepticism(he
humored them) When they went back in 30 days, Taylor's
ears were fluid free for the first time in over 6 months. She never had
another ear infection. My family has a strong history of dairy problems
that started long before these kids were born.
