<< I got a call from a mom today. Baby is 2 days old and not latching. Mom
had
questions, I had questions.... and then she says...." To be quite
honest, when I see a woman nursing her baby it makes me want to throw up. >>
It sounds as if she was really reaching out to you to ask *why* that might be
so and talk to her about whether that was a feeling she wanted to get over or
around, or whether that was going to involve investigations beyond what she
could handle in the pp period and she was going to have to default to
alternate feeding, or maybe ebm in a bottle. She must have been feeling
pretty mixed and awful to have to tell you that.
Star, how hard for you! When technical support turns into emotional
counseling you know it's going to be a long day, though heaven knows that for
everyone who does lactation support there is plenty of it.
