Esther, I loved your story about the baby fair. Those things really are
quite disgusting. The lines for free formula sign ups are three times
longer than any other line.
I had a funny experience at one myself, about ffive years ago when my
daughter was an infant. I had her in a sling (one of the few babies
actually OUT of the car seat or stroller being held), and a man dressed as
a giant box of Beechnut Cereal walked towards me and tried to hand me some
packets of dried rice cereal. I said "no thanks, my baby is only four
months old". Just then, Julia spit up and the Cereal Box guy said to me
"Oh, she's got formula on her chin". I'm like, "I don't THINK so".
It was a completely surrealistic experience, let me tell you, talking to a
cereal box with a face.
