Chris, I use the football/clutch hold as you do but I advice the chin
to be up off the chest in order to move the entire mandible and thereby
the tongue and the bottom gum closer to the breast. I don't think it is
enough to have the tongue cover the bottom gum if the entire
tongue/gum/mandiblular complex is further from the lactiferous sinuses
because of the chin being on the chest.
Interesting to think about. You wouldn't want the gum "biting" the
areola but I think the whole tongue/gum/chin thing move as a unit. I'd
be interested to learn otherwise if it is so.
