I took a college class per semester for almost forever beginning after
birth of 3rd in 1963!  It was mom's night out (I couldn't bowl-that was
what almost everyone else did back then!)  Of course I found LLL in 1966
and received all the intellectual stim I needed.  It was a whole new world
opened up   to  me that has lead me down many interesting paths and allowed
me to  meet vast #s of people I would never had met under ordinary
circumstances in southern NJ on a farm!   I guess you get what you look
for.  If you don't look (or know you can look) you won't find it.  I guess
my mom was a good example, baking at home for years and selling it,
graduating from college in her early 50s and beginning a teaching career.

I guess this is why I think BFing is so important for women who have been
in less than perfect circumstances.  It is empowering.  It is frequently
their first step up and out.  I feel very deeply about this whole subject.
