I have met a real live, flesh and blood lactnetter! Dr. Edlavitch
was on the local news 2 times this fall and winter talking about the
health and other benefits of breastfeeding, one was after the Chicago
Hope episode. (btw, only one mother has asked me about that program and
I told her it was fiction and then went on about how a newborn's I & O
will tell plenty about adequate intake of mother's milk) The newscast
told how he was a pediatrician one suburb over from where I live (!) We
finally met last Monday at his clinic for a tour and lunch after several
back and forth emails. I had the privelege to meet a kindly, wise, old
gentleman and chat about breastfeeding.....and we ate in the Dr.'s dining
room. I wish he was the pediatrician for my 3 kids. Maybe I'll switch
to his clinic, it is only one suburb away!
One thing I just had to ask him.......how does a person get on local
tv TWO times??? He said he called the station and offered. Lucky
station!
Warm regards to all,
Susan Potts rn ibclc Minnesota
