The theme of this thread immediately, for me, brings up the issue of
objectivity vs.  subjectivity.  I've already stated on the list that I have
a preference for "Germanic" music; that's a subjective preference.  I would
be an arrogant fool to take this further and state that the music I prefer
is superior to music from other parts of the world.

The issue of objectivity/subjectivity in music has been raised many times
on the list.  Some list members do feel that an objective case can be made
for the superiority of classical music; I disagree, but more than that, I
see no reason to even approach the question.  I'll continue to listen to
the music I prefer and would expect that others will do the same.
