is anyone familiar with this group? they are advertising here for donations
to send to kosovo, and infant formula is on the list. when i called to ask
where they got these guidelines (i had seen the exact same list posted at my
child's school, and they said they got the list from the red cross), the
person i spoke to was so extremely defensive that i was actually surprised.
she wouldn't even give me her name until i sort of shamed her into it. "but
we are only trying to help them, we have never had anybody criticize what we
do!" she said, and "we have done lots of research into what these people need
and the hospitals needs their supplies replenished!": she had no idea
whatsoever about the impact of this policy, refused to believe me, and also
kept repeating that she didn't want to know something that would change her
beliefs. wow!
she said they work in 70 countries and also sent things to central america
after the hurricane. anybody know more about them? i will be looking into it.
